Double Entendre : Soft Goods

Soft Goods explores how soft materials can generate form through process. Bringing together designers from Montreal and Toronto, the exhibition highlights the creative potential of pliable, flexible, and malleable materials. The works examine how material behavior and experimentation can lead to unexpected outcomes, ranging from tactile, gentle forms to more structured and solid pieces.

Pairing a wide retrospective with new, unreleased work, the exhibition centers on a live, five-day carving station. Working entirely by hand with only gouges and chisels, no power tools, the artist transforms a raw block of wood into a finished sculpture as shavings accumulate organically on the floor.
